I felt such feminist clarity when dealing with strange men who were harassing my friends and I on Sunday night. Funny how a simple comment like “I’m not playing [pool] for your enjoyment” instantly brands me as ‘mean’ and ‘horrible’.
“We’re gonna leave you alone now,” I was eventually told by one guy, who felt it appropriate to put his arm around me. “I hope you don’t hate me.” I told him: “I don’t hate you. I don’t care about you. I just want you to stop harassing us.”
Wish I had the guts and the assuredness to stand up to that shit when I was actually a student here. I can’t even count the number of times that sort of thing happened to us. I couldn’t stop the guy from filming us though although I did hit his phone with my cue at one point.

"I like to think about the first law of thermodynamics, that no energy in the universe is created and none is destroyed. That means that every bit of energy inside us, every particle will go on to be a part of something else. Maybe live as a dragonfish, a microbe, maybe burn in a supernova ten billion years from now. And every part of us now was once a part of some other thing - a moon, a storm cloud, a mammoth."
